"Of course the A/C quits on the afternoon of the 90+ degree day! Fan and compressor were not working, but indoor fan was, meaning either a capacitor or contractor issue in the outdoor unit. Called office 10 minutes before they were done for the day, but was able to confirm a repair appointment for first thing the next morning. Technician (Sean) was here at 8 am, and after a 2 minute discussion and check, confirmed that capacitor was the issue. Still under warranty from Bryant, so that was a plus, but I was surprised that there was a failure after only 3 years since last unit ( also a Bryant, nd installed by AC Engineers after house was built in 1997) never had a problem for the 17 years we had it until replaced with the higher efficiency unit. The interesting comment from the technician was that he would likely replace 5-6 more capacitors that day (!!!!!), not tied to any particular brand of unit, but more because all the manufacturers use the same capacitor from the same source, and "they literally don't build them like the used too". Rather illuminating - In addition to the capacitor fix, he did a full service check of the system. Excellent job, responsive and knowledgeable."

"We own a home-based business which relies heavily on our computers operating efficiently. We have had a service contract with another computer repair business for several years. Recently when we were having problems with our computers, we tried contacting our service contractor multiple times. He never responded. Feeling frustrated, I contacted James at North Alabama Technical Services and explained our situation. He instantly came to our rescue. He "cleaned-up" our computers and took care of all the problems we were experiencing. He went above and beyond to help us in our dire time of need. We would strongly recommend James and his company for computer service needs. We have now retained him on a service contract and are looking forward to working with him in the future."

"The main problem areas (master bed and bath) are definitely warmer. The guys that came and did the work (Ethan and Lamar) were good guys and did the best they could. However, it was sold to me that the gaps would all be filled. They weren't. You can see it on the heat gun. So, I don't feel as thought I was given what I was sold. Yes, it is warmer but we can still see the gaps of cold in several locations when you look at the heat gun. If you hire this company (or any company) to retro-insulate your house, here is some advice: - demand they bring the heat gun when they do the work so that they can tell where they need to drill more holes and put more insulation in. I have no idea why they don't do that anyways. It is counter-intuitive to use the heat gun when you *sell* the job but then not use it when you *do* the job. - tell them to not leave as much mud on the dry wall repairs. The painters suggested this after having to sand down thick layers of mud over the repaired holes. I had some other issues they they were *very* responsive in taking care of. Now, everything is painted and the dry wall is all repaired. Unfortunately, I didn't have them come back with the heat gun until after all of that work was done. So ,I can't afford to have them drill more holes again and repair and paint them all again. In summary, my house is warmer and I think they are good people but they weren't able to do all that they claimed."

FAQs for boiler or radiator heating system service projects in Detroit, MI

Radiator heat can be more expensive to install than forced-air systems due to the materials and technology involved. However, radiators often provide superior warmth and can improve indoor air quality by not circulating allergens. While the upfront costs may be higher, the enhanced energy efficiency and lasting performance can make radiators a worthwhile investment for a comfortable home.

If one radiator in your home isn't heating up, it might be due to trapped air or a blockage from debris or sludge. Your pro can bleed the radiator to release any air pockets. If that doesn't work, it might need a thorough cleaning or professional inspection. Regular maintenance helps prevent these issues and keeps your heating system running smoothly.

If your radiator is making banging, clanging, or hissing noises, it might have trapped air or loose parts. Your pro will likely start by bleeding the radiator to release any air pockets. Next, they’ll check that all valves, brackets, and pipes are securely tightened. Adding insulation can also help reduce noise. If the sounds persist and your pro recommends it, a replacement may be necessary.
