"First we had Conditioned Air and another company come and give estimates. Jim was very knowledge and helped me understand what he suggested. He also gave tips on maintaining our furnace/ac. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions and made the process very easy.
In the next day or two he emailed a detailed estimate that clearly explained what he recommended for rerouting and the cost.
We asked him to break down the estimate so we could decide which parts of the work we wanted to proceed with. He had included additional work we had not intended to do. The estimate was broken down clearly and quickly so we were able to decide how to proceed. 
After comparing the plans and estimates of the two companies we went with Conditioned Air. During the estimate he was so great at explaining and his rerouting made sense to us.
We set up a date to begin the work. The project went smoothly and quickly. Workers arrived on time and in less then a week the project was complete.

However, as that company no longer installed that manufacturer, they refused to honor the warranty, and I had to find someone else to help; enter Minnesota Plumbing & Heating. Instead of charging me more money to re-diagnose the issue, I was put on the phone with Paul, who took me at my word, answered all of my questions and set up service to replace the old leaking heater including installing a disaster pan. The permit inspector complemented the work done. We have a lot of confidence in the service we received and will definitely use Minnesota Plumbing & Heating again."

"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment.
The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc.
The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived.

"Brennan Snyder arrived on time and went about his business. I asked him one question about the hazard symbol that I couldn't get rid of on my thermostat. He showed me where to find it under alerts and he cleared it out for me. He expressed his condolences for the passing of my husband--they had struck up a friendship over the years. He checked the A/C system inside and went outside to check the unit out there. He came back and said everything was great. He asked if I had any further questions or if I needed anything done before he left. He was very pleasant to deal with."

"My water heater was broken and Standard Plumbing was the first to return my phone call. It had broken on Christmas Day (Friday) and I had left messages for a number of companies. They were able to schedule me on Monday. The person they sent out was on time and professional. I was a little irritated that he wouldn't even walk over to the water heater until I had agreed to pay about $160 to diagnose the problem. Since I had been told on the phone that the service fee was around $60 and I had clearly told them that the water heater was broken, I wished they had told me that it would really be $160. The plumber spent a lot of time trying to diagnose the problem and then told me that I needed to replace some parts - total cost $525 for parts and labor (that would be the total charge - the $160 was included in the $525). I had to go back to work so I told the plumber to call me when he had it fixed. A few hours later, I received a call from the owner saying that the parts they replaced didn't fix the problem and they didn't know what was wrong. They put everything back the way it was, told me they wouldn't charge me anything at all (really nice surprise) and gave me the number of a specialist that they had already contacted in advance to see how soon the specialist could come out. If they had been able to fix my water heater at the $525, I would have given them mediocre ratings, but how they handled it when they couldn't fix it was really impressive. The specialist came out the next day and had it fixed in less than an hour."
