"Jim was professional and an expert in figuring out what was faulty. He identified that we needed to replace the gas valve and not only installed a new one but also restored the embers as well. We are thrilled, and we and our landlord will recommend Jim to anyone needing fireplace installation or repairs. Jim was also very respectful and punctual. Jim was also incredibly courteous and generous with his time especially because we have a cancer patient in our apartment. Thank you Jim!"

"I highly recommend 1-Hour Chimney for any chimney/fireplace repairs. From the first time I called for an estimate to the completion of the work, Tony and his workers were completely professional and trustworthy. We had a new liner installed in our chimney and after inspecting the exterior chimney, Tony immediately identified damage that had occurred from years of weather and use. Tony provided several repair options with varying prices, however ultimately recommended the most cost effective and common sense solution and not once pushed for the more expensive repair. This is just one example of Tony’s business and work ethic. Tony’s crew showed up on time and performed exactly what was promised. The resurfacing on the exterior chimney was immaculate and came out better than promised. I cannot recommend 1 - Hour Chimney enough and will definitely utilize their services if needed in the future."

"Dennis was great to work with. He was timely and responded to my texts quickly. He provided pictures of the roof repairs as he and his team worked. The prices were very fair and the repair worked really well (we had some rain the same day and no leaks)."

"They were great! Refused to charge me since they thought I did not need a cleaning done. They inspected the fireplaces and gave me a credit towards future work on them. We will call them back when we are ready to begin work."

"Roy and his team did a great job of repairing and leveling our uneven and crooked brick walkway. He kept the cost down by using the same bricks and creating a new, more appealing pattern. He also patched up a crumbling brick stairway. His cost was competitive, he was punctual and finished the job as scheduled. You can tell Roy and his team take pride in the work they do. I would certainly recommend them for any mason work."

"Seals well enough to keep out any air from coming down chimney, but because of old one being cut out of metal firebox, some cold air still radiates into fireplace and out into rec room during really cold weather. New damper is spring loaded which makes it difficult for my girlfriend to close. Also they kept cancelling appointments stating they had emergency calls they had to handle first. Finally came on 4th or 5th appointment. Did show up in scheduled time window, did work in about one hour, and left work area in clean condition. This was the most efficient way to do the repairs because of the way the fireplace was built and to replace everything would have been cost prohibitive plus not feasible because of the stone work on the fireplace which is a hard to find lava rock. Biggest negative was the numerous cancellations."

"A few weeks ago, high winds blew off my chimney cap. It was installed 15 years ago by a supposedly reputable chimney sweep along with the installation of what was supposed to be a "full length" chimney liner. He also tarred the chimney above roof line.
With my being somewhat afraid of heights, my wife found very good reviews of Safety First Chimney & Fireplace Restoration on another online review site and made an appointment for Tuesday 4/12. Vincent showed up promptly to replace the cap. It took all of 3 minutes. He showed me a few pictures of my chimney on his phone. I was shocked to discover how deteriorated it was! Half the tar was gone, there were big chunks of mortar missing from between the bricks and some were even shifted out of place. You didn't have to be an expert to see that it needed a complete rebuild. He also mentioned that the liner material was very flimsy. Being thorough he asked to check the base of the chimney at the boiler and discovered that the liner didn't even go to the bottom. He called me down to see for myself. That was the moment I decided I liked and trusted Vincent. He involved me, and let me see with my own eyes what the issues were! Knowing that such an essential aspect of my home should not be ignored, I agreed to have all matters addressed, and made another appointment for Friday 4/15.
Demolition was quick due to the poor condition of the old chimney. Vincent then removed the old liner. It was only 15' long, falling about 7' short of the furnace connector! He also showed me a piece of the liner. It really was "coffee can thin" and filled with ridges on the inside which collected soot and particles. He installed a smooth core, heavy stainless steel, double walled liner.
Next came the "roof up" chimney rebuild. Vincent offered a choice of new or old brick. I opted for old brick, in keeping with my old house. I am very pleased with the masonry work! I'm no expert but I've laid a few bricks in my time and can really appreciate what a nice job it is. Everything's straight, level, well spaced and proportioned. He even topped it with a red clay flu liner. Something my old chimney didn't have. And of course he replaced my old stainless cap which was just fine. It's so nice I wish I could upload a picture here. He posts pics on his website so maybe you can see it there.
Highly recommended!
