"After three estimates for central ac and repair of furnace installed incorrectly, I chose Adams Heating and Cooling. They installed new duct work, added a return to my first floor, removed my furnace and replaced it correctly ( and did a lot more ) Eric quickly responded to me when I had questions about the estimate and thoroughly explained everything when he was at my home.. the lead tech David and Will were excellent. The workmanship, cleanliness(wearing shoe covers) and professionalism was superb. I am so pleased with the outcome of everything !! My house ? is cool now ! The house quickly cooled down and my house was built in 1885!"

"Brandon came out this morning to assess the issue. He was very polite and professional. Maximus and Jon were my installers. They were professional, polite and got the job done timely. Great guys!"

"The process of replacing my furnace during the cold winter was very pleasant Jeremy started the job immediately and worked all night to make sure we had heat I highly recommend him"

"Mike was so responsive, helpful and professional. After the first job where Mike came out on New Years Eve to help with a heating situation, I have worked with him on many jobs now in a variety of properties - always to my satisfaction. Thank you, X-Treme Construction!"

"Sooo....first, Jim is a very nice guy.  However, Jim now works in Nashville during the week and is only home to the Huntsville area on the weekends.
My first impression of him was that he was awesome.  My computer system had crashed because I pulled the plug during a thunder storm before the computer fully shut down which resulted in the computer hanging up.  Jim took my call while in Tennessee and suggested how to fix the system.  For this I am very grateful.

What happened next was I had him come and check my computer to make sure everything was working properly.  He came to my house and spent an hour tweaking it (basically running various checks on the system), for which I paid him $50.  He suggested that my laptop would work much better if I had Windows 7 and increased my RAM up to 4 GB.  He said he could install it for me for (including the RAM) for about $160.  We met the following weekend for the handoff and he loaded Window 7.  When I received the call it was ready, the bill was $227.50.  I was surprised that is was $70 more than quoted, but paid it anyways.  When I asked about the RAM, he mentioned he did not upgrade the RAM and this would be another $60.  I was a little discouraged at that point since I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but the guy is relatively nice, so I said to go ahead and order the RAM.  He did so and the following weekend was supposed to install it.  Due to some personal things in his life, he wasn't able to install it, so I picked it up since I had to go out of town and could use the IT guy at my new location to install it for me.  When we went to install the RAM, the system wouldn't let us do it since my particular type of laptop can only take 2GB of RAM max.  If Jim had gone to the crucial.com website (where he bought my RAM) and entered my computer system on it, it would have told him the max amount of RAM that could be installed on that unit.  He did not do that.  He is supposed to refund my $60 this next weekend.

I think if Jim wasn't burning the candle at both ends by having a job in Tennessee during the week and trying to run this business on the weekends, it would've been a better experience.  Perhaps taking a few extra minutes to SLOW DOWN and write out an estimate of everything he would need for the job including the prices would ensure people know up front how much the repair would/should cost so they can budget accordingly.  I think if he had taken that approach, it might've been a better experience.  So now I am stuck with a laptop that runs slower because Windows 7 uses more memory and a laptop that can't be upgraded to more RAM.  Basically, the last step which cost me almost $300 was not necessary.  If you need something simple done like coming back from a system crash, he would be okay to use.  Otherwise, for the bigger jobs, I recommend he provide a written estimate with the items he plans to do.

UPDATE:  After posting this review, I received a number of text messages from Jim commenting on the bad review.  I understand he is upset, but harassing someone about a review is not a good way to go.  My review was honest and not meant to be mean, but to let those that use Angie's list get what they pay for...an honest review of someone's experience."

"He came and replaced a part that did not fix it. Took part with him. He came back and charged me another almost $300 for a new sump pump which I should have gotten the first time he came. I feel I paid twice. Too much money."

"It went very smoothly. Mr. Mullholland was very helpful and the serviceman was capable and tidy. We weren't asked about what kind of replacement faucet we wanted and the one they installed is kind of odd in the way it works. Whenever we have guests they usually don't know how to operate the shower. So that was a disappointment, but not huge. We also felt the hourly rate was pretty high, but didn't have time to shop around to compare the going rates. All in all, quality service, happy to support a good, solid, local business.

"It worked out okay, except that I would have anticipated, the cost just gets more. They always find those things, so it starts at $99 and end up spending $300 or $400. People tell me they always find mold inside your air duct, so they have to put a chemical. They call it a total cleaning as opposed to the regular cleaning which I paid for. What they did seemed to have worked. I have suspicions about when they find other things. "

"Matt was on time (actually 5 min early)  He explained the process and made clear what didn't need to be replaced (drain pipes under sink). If we have other work will use them again without doubt

"Replaced a leaky gasket in furnace, and performed routine maintenance and service. The techs were knowledgeable and explained the work they were doing, and the reason for the recommended repairs. The techs arrived within the service time window estimate, and gave a "heads up" call about 20 minutes before arrival. They also provide a picture of the tech prior to the appointment time. They put booties over their shoes upon entering your house and leave the work area cleaner than when they arrived. Everyone at Grasshopper, from the office people to the techs, was friendly and professional. They made you feel like they actually cared about customer satisfaction. I did feel that the repair cost, relative to the amount of time spent, was on the high side, although I really have no reference to compare to. I would definitely use them again, and recommend that you consider calling them for service and/or repair."
