For anyone worried about price gouging, they showed a lot of integrity by replacing parts at no extra cost when they easily could have gotten by keeping mismatched but functioning accessories. Also, it is not cost-effective to dig into the gas lines and the firebox just to sell an upgrade. Outside work such as installing a color-coordinated chimney cap might yield a profit. Chimney Sweeps are very busy. I recommend getting on the books early or doing an off-season inspection. My fireplace is up and running, but I plan to get a level 2 inspection to have more knowledge and peace of mind about the house. In hindsight, I should have gotten a nicer log set, but I wanted to keep costs down in case I had to spend more on repairs."

"Eric was prompt and arrived when he said he would. He did a great job cleaning the firebox. Actually, he did it better than the worker who did it last year. The reason I gave a C grade overall is that AFTER Eric completed the cleaning and reset the soot, grate and logs, he advised me that I should not burn any fires as I needed repairs completed as the firebox was not safe. I think that the time to tell me that would have been before I spent  the money to complete the cleaning and inspection. I also had estimates done for tuckpointing on the outside chimney bricks and repairs to the firebox. After the electrician rewired the light, Dan’s crew came back out and rebuilt the wall, again at no cost to me. "It's HARD to find a good mason.  (Believe me... I'm still trying to get my money back from one who did terrible work for me a couple years ago!)   Ken is a top-notch mason.  He went above and beyond to do an excellent job for a very reasonable price.  He was able to work around different challenges that came up, worked well with the other contractors (who were doing the wood portion of the porch), and did it all with a smile.  He paid attention to the smallest details - putting up a temporary mailbox while the porch was inaccessible, cleaning up every bit of debris / trash, dying the mortar because he noticed the existing mortar had a slightly reddish hue.   I will definitely go back to him with any masonry needs. <br />"

"Craig was very professional from start to finish.  We have a gas fireplace that we haven't used since we purchased our home almost 5 years ago.  We called Craig and made an appointment to come give us and estimate.  He not only gave us an estimate but he gave us a lot of good suggestions on how to make the fireplace look good.  So agreed to have him do the work.  Craig came back after 2 weeks and did the following work.  <br /> 1. He painted the inside of our fireplace black so when the new fireplace doors are installed it will look like a tv screen and it <br />      made  it look darker and nicer. <br /> 2. He removed some of our ceramic logs and replaced them with better ones he had at his shop at no charge.  <br /> 3. He cleaned all the junk stuff that had fallen into our fireplace. <br /> 4. He added new pebbles/fireplace dirt <br /> 5. He rearranged everything that made the fireplace flame look bigger and brighter. <br /> 6. He purchased a door for us that we selected from the brochures he should us at the time he did the estimate.  He installed the <br />     door and showed us how to use it. <br /> 7.
