"Great! We had him out because we were selling our house and the inspector said our fireplace and chimney were dirty(which I knew they weren't) and the buyers wanted us to address it. He came out and took one look at our fireplace and said there really wasn't anything wrong with it, but he had to charge us for a service call. He felt bad about it, but I completely understood. He wiped down the fireplace and ran the brush up the chimney even though it didn't need it so we could tell the buyers we had it taken care of. He also patched a couple of spots that would need it soon anyway. He was very courteous and friendly. Would totally recommend them to someone else."

The 40' stone retaining wall looks new and the caulking that was between a substantial number of chimney bricks was removed and replaced with mortar. The stone planters in our home's entry were carefully cleaned of broken/cracked mortar, the stones are now solidly in place and the planters look great. Roy is an artist with this kind of work. Cleanup was very thorough - minimal effort needed after it was done."

"If masonry were an Olympic event, Anthony would win a gold medal. Not only did Anthony and his crew do an excellent job repairing the chimney and crumbling bricks at the side of our house. He made the effort to match the new bricks to the colour and style of those on the house. When the bill came in, it was exactly as estimated. "

"The offer was misleading. Offered 8 hours of masonry repair for coupon purchase, but business representative said it was 8 hours between 3 employees or approximately 2 1/2 hours each employee. The representative asked me to come an hour earlier to work site on day of work to go over the areas he found, which I did. When I got there, they were already working and did not stop to show me anything, until I asked. Two employees were working to lay a line of brick on a ledge, which I had not authorized. He showed me what he said needed repair. I told him what I wanted fixed and he said that the coupon could be applied to the line of brick. After awhile, I was told time was up and they had not completed the line of brick. I told him that you are just going to leave it unfinished and I was told he just wanted me to see what it would look like. He told me that he could finish the brick work and cracks for an additional $5,000+ dollars. I said I would not pay to have that work completed. I told him I would have to get someone to tear out the work as it had just been started. The whole experience was misleading and I still ended up paying $960.00 for a couple of the original repairs that I did want done. The work that was done was good but what a misrepresentation from the company in order to force additional work from customer."

"Richard came out on time, looked at fireplace and did troubleshooting.  He discovered the logs were not ever installed properly and the pilot light was not hitting in the right spot. He cleaned the pilot light so it would produce sufficient power to turn on the gas.  He then proceeded to rearrange the fake logs so as to protect the pilot light and keep it working more efficiently.  He cleaned the pilot light and got it working rather than trying to sell us a new $350 unit that we did not need.  He was very knowledgable about gas fireplaces and took his time to fix all the problems, even to the point of redecorating with extra lava rock and embers which made it look so much better.  He was a real joy to work with.  They were able to schedule us in quicker than other companies.  We will definitely use Bugs and Ashes again. <br />"

"Another company had cleaned my chimney and fireplace, inspected it for safety, and applied a CrownCoat, which cost an additional $200. It looked a mess and I wanted an objective opinion. Josh Hasten, of Chimney and Wildlife Specialists, was kind enough to take a look at no charge. He found gaps along the damper lintel areas, which were a safety issue.  He also noticed that the CrownCoat came off in his fingers, even though three days had passed and it should have dried. He said that he would have only charged $75 and used mortar. He also said my cap could easily come off, which I believe because it was old. He gave a fair estimate to repair everything, including a custom-made cap. The cap he suggested was beautiful and reasonably priced. I thought Josh was professional and really liked him. If it weren't for the battle with the first company, I would have hired him in a New-York minute. <br />"
