Small jobs welcome

"It is worth noting that Pillar to Post Home Inspectors provide all 3 inspections--termite, radon, and home. They made the process easy for me and completed all 3 inspections for less than their competitors charge for only a home inspection. I have already recommended them to others."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hit connected with this company after I put a offer on my first home. Next step was scheduling an inspection. My realtor had someone that she recommended. Me being me, I decided to compare prices. I was contacted by three companies including this one he was 200 bucks less than everyone. They were prompt and professional. I enjoyed the convenience being able to communicate via text, email and phone. The service was completed in two days. I couldnâ t be happier with the service."

Welcome to Metro Real Estate Inspections Inc. In 2002 I was appointed by the Governor to the the Illinois Home Inspector Advisory Board. In that capacity I helped to write the Illinois Home Inspector Licensing Act and Standards of Practice for the State of Illinois. I also helped write the Illinois law portion of the state home inspector exam. I am a state licensed continuing instructor and enjoyed teaching home inspection courses locally at Oakton Community College, Inspection Training Associates and The Home Inspector University. We have been in business since 1992 and Metro Real Estate Inspections Inc. has inspected over 8,500 properties. I can be reached directly on my cell phone at (847) 338-7266 or my office at (800) 300-3143.

"Matt is very knowledgeable and up to date on building, etc. Codes. I was very happy with his service. The house had a blocked and screwed shut access. He moved some things got out his tools. Opened the access inspected then put everything as it was. The guy who inspected my current house just stated couldn't access area not inspected. Very thorough. Thank you Matt"

"I suspected that I has a blocked drain because of odors while running the washer. I purchased a drain clean out special, however the crew did an inspection and tested the flow and determined this was not needed. They also found that my laundry trap was dry and that the washer could have stale water trapped inside causing the odor. They had trouble opening the rusted clean out and mentioned that it would cost thousands to dig it out and replace the pipe. They were eventually able to get it open and confirm that my drain to the street was not the issue. I appreciated the thorough testing and them not doing an unneeded service. I was only charged $65 and used the difference for another service. I would recommend AAA Walsh."

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."

FAQs for complete home inspection projects in Kirkland, IL

An electrical inspection usually takes one to two hours. During the inspection, your electrician will follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) to ensure your home is safe and up to legal safety standards. They'll check your electrical system, including wires, appliances, meter box, panel, circuit breakers, and more.

Afterward, you'll receive a detailed checklist of everything they examined, along with a report highlighting any urgent issues—often with photos. They might also offer tips on how to save energy and improve your system's efficiency.

Regular electrical inspections protect your home and family by ensuring that every part of your electrical system operates safely. Scheduling inspections reduces the risk of electrical fires and cuts high insurance premiums by detecting problems early. Inspections defend against hidden system failures and maintain your property’s overall value, making them an essential part of home maintenance.

Full home electrical inspections are essential when buying a new home because every wiring detail must be evaluated. If you are not purchasing a home and have no significant concerns, a basic safety inspection is sufficient. However, for older properties or homes that have not been inspected for a long time, a comprehensive inspection is required to detect hidden issues and ensure complete safety.
