"When scheduling the home inspection, the team at Anderson AmeriSpec were extremely nice and accommodating. I was able to easily schedule the inspection at a time that as convenient for me. Steve arrived early (so there was no waiting around) and got to work right away. After he completed the outside inspection, I followed him around as he examined inside, and he explained what he was looking at in each room. At the end, he reviewed all of his findings, showed me pictures of any of the problem areas, and answered all of my questions. He was very patient and thorough, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a home inspector."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"When they make their appointment, they are prompt. They are friendly. They do a good job. If I ask for anything specific, they are willing to do that. In the spring, I like them to spray by overhead gables and they'll do that without charging me any extra. They do the termite control once a year and come into the house quarterly for $380."

"This guy was referred to me by my real estate dealer. I found him to be very professional and very thorough in his job. He pointed out the things that needed to be fixed which saved us money. He said some bad boards on the outside of the home needed to be replaced, and that we had serious cracks in the chimney bricks which needed replaced because it was a fire hazard."

"I needed an inspection on a 4 plex and my Realtor (Sherita McCray Assured Real Estate (901) 503-7276) suggested Gene Ballin. <br /> We set up a time and date. Mr. Ballin arrived at the property early and went right to work. I arrived on time. Now here's the thing that truly impressed me right away . . . as soon as I introduced myself; Mr. Ballin ceased his work to bring me up to date on everything he had already inspected. He gave me a small ' <strong>STRUCTURE COMPONENT GUIDE</strong>' booklet he had designed himself showing things inspected during a general inspection. Along with each item in the booklet were explanations on what it was, where it should be and how it was supposed to work. Mr. Ballin used this booklet to point out things he had found wrong - and I had a clearer picture of the correct way these things should be; plus there was even room in the back of the booklet for my notes. I followed along after him as he completed his inspection. Mr. Ballin took the time to explain things to me as he went. Pointing things out to me and showing them to me in the book. With every step he took I grew more confident he was the right person for this job. <br /> Mr. Ballin is detailed and thorough. He sent my inspection report via email. The report is 24 pages with pictures of everything he found wrong clearly marked with explanations so there is no question in one's mind as to where the item is in the structure or what it's function is supposed to be. The report is well put together. Very organized. In layman's terms so people can understand what is going on. Also included in the report (as was told to me at the property) are detailed suggestions as to what I can do to upgrade, repair or replace things. <br /> Mr. Ballin is a top shelf, no nonsense type of professional. He does not waste time trying to coddle you - he tells you exactly what things are and once he is sure you understand his explanations - he moves on. <br /> I greatly appreciated his thoroughness, competence and expertise. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for complete home inspection projects in Memphis, TN

An electrical inspection usually takes one to two hours. During the inspection, your electrician will follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) to ensure your home is safe and up to legal safety standards. They'll check your electrical system, including wires, appliances, meter box, panel, circuit breakers, and more.

Afterward, you'll receive a detailed checklist of everything they examined, along with a report highlighting any urgent issues—often with photos. They might also offer tips on how to save energy and improve your system's efficiency.

Regular electrical inspections protect your home and family by ensuring that every part of your electrical system operates safely. Scheduling inspections reduces the risk of electrical fires and cuts high insurance premiums by detecting problems early. Inspections defend against hidden system failures and maintain your property’s overall value, making them an essential part of home maintenance.

Full home electrical inspections are essential when buying a new home because every wiring detail must be evaluated. If you are not purchasing a home and have no significant concerns, a basic safety inspection is sufficient. However, for older properties or homes that have not been inspected for a long time, a comprehensive inspection is required to detect hidden issues and ensure complete safety.
