"We needed a home inspection quickly, and Ken came out on the weekend because that worked best for us. We are so thankful for his thorough inspection and his attention to detail. He taught us things we didn't know about what to look for. The home maintenance list he provides is a nice touch. Would recommend ?!"

"<p> I called Tom, (I found Home Inspections Plus on Angie's List, but he was recommended by name from my realtor with three others.)  I discussed some concerns I had going into this home.  I wanted to make sure he had the right tools, and the experience to understand what I wanted to be checked and confirm or ease those concerns I had. </p> <p>Well, Tom started on the outside, checking the stuff that needs to be checked.  He found a few minor issues and easy fixes, which we discussed, short and long term remedies.</p> <p>Sadly, we found a foundational issue, which when totaled with other little and medium sized fixes, was enough to force me to step away from the house purchase.  I told Tom we were done here, and no need to finish the inspection.  He agreed with my assessment of cost to repair, and the price of the home being too costly...  Tom was kind enough to validate my decision with my realtor.</p> <p>Tom only billing me for a partial inspection was above and beyond. As I view the cost of an inspection well worth the money TOO find a problem, or just as well a lack of a problem.  Especially when as a buyer, you really feel an attachment to a property in your heart as this particular one had for me and my wife..</p> <p>Always get an inspection done before making a final decision to buy a home, and Tom is a guy I feel I can trust to do the job honestly.</p> <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"He was able to schedule an appointment in a timely fashion since we had a limited time in which to get the inspection completed. He was friendly and professional on the phone, arrived on time for the appointment, and was very well prepared. My husband, the realtor and I were present during the inspection. He did an inspection of the exterior of the home and garage, climbed on the roof, and took pictures. Then we went inside. We started in the basement. Mr. Lee took the time to explain the workings of the furnace, humidifier and water heater and what some of the possible problems are that we might expect with these in the future and explained the issues that he found that might be of concern. He was very thorough in looking at every room of the house. He tested the plumbing, the washing machine, tested the temperature of the heat coming out of every heat duct, checked spots in the walls for moisture, etc. The inspection lasted between 2 and 3 hours. He was able to give us a printed brief summary of the results and emailed and mailed us a very informative full report, with pictures. <br />"

"Needed a home security system for my daughters home. I saw a SimpliSafe advertisement and was intrigued by the low-cost yet complete security alarm system it offered. I did some research and it seemed like a very good organization. I bought the entire package online. It arrived about a week later in one box. My daughter and I spent a couple of hours setting it up in her home. It was remarkably easy and effective. There were a few questions. We called their support and got the questions addressed very quickly. Overall, this is an extraordinary step forward in home security – easy to install by yourself and amazingly inexpensive!"

"Dale did a wonderful job explaining thoroughly what he inspected and what his concerns were.  We went room by room and he explained what he was looking for and why.  He shared what could wait to be repaired and what needed to be a priority.  We created a list of questions for the seller together and he even gave me a book explaining how to run my home!  What a great extra!  Dale is a down to earth, thorough home inspector with a lot of experience.  I appreciated him taking the time to explain everything to me! <br />"

"Mark arrived on time. He listened to our initial questions/concerns and then proceeded to his inspection. While working independently, he frequently called us over to notice something or to explain something that would be helpful if we were to become owners. <br /> The report, of course, was in a standard format. It was delivered within 4 hours via an online service. We value its punctuality and succinctness while also valuing Mark's in-person on-the-job comments and explanations that were far more extensive than what was written in the formatted report. <br />"

FAQs for complete home inspection projects in Rochester, MN

An electrical inspection usually takes one to two hours. During the inspection, your electrician will follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) to ensure your home is safe and up to legal safety standards. They'll check your electrical system, including wires, appliances, meter box, panel, circuit breakers, and more.

Afterward, you'll receive a detailed checklist of everything they examined, along with a report highlighting any urgent issues—often with photos. They might also offer tips on how to save energy and improve your system's efficiency.

Regular electrical inspections protect your home and family by ensuring that every part of your electrical system operates safely. Scheduling inspections reduces the risk of electrical fires and cuts high insurance premiums by detecting problems early. Inspections defend against hidden system failures and maintain your property’s overall value, making them an essential part of home maintenance.

Full home electrical inspections are essential when buying a new home because every wiring detail must be evaluated. If you are not purchasing a home and have no significant concerns, a basic safety inspection is sufficient. However, for older properties or homes that have not been inspected for a long time, a comprehensive inspection is required to detect hidden issues and ensure complete safety.
