"Called on the Dec. 9 and the tech was heee in 8 hours. Wow what a difference between this home warranty to the last home warranty I had, it would be a week before they got someone out here and that would only happen if I continued to hound them to get someone out here. It put my faith back in home warranty again where was lost. Always had home warranty’s when I own my own homes. Never had a problem when I came from the DFW area to West Virginia . I just thought that West Virginia didn’t have people doing home warranty’s special after I had select home warranty’s it would take sometimes two weeks to get somebody out here and that was because they allowed me to call a technician to come out then you would have tell the technician that they needed to call select home warranty to work out a deal before fixing my problem. They done this to me every time. Nobody works on the weekends so if it happens during the weekend you file your claim but the catch of it is that the 48hrs they told it could get a hold of you doesn’t start until Monday morning and stops at 6 on fridays. Listen if you take my advice of a home owner that’s had a home warranty for 30 yrs stay away from select warranty. I had choice before and they always have done me right. It put my faith back in having repairs done in a timely manner"

"I purchased their $89 special to powerrod 1 drain or toilet auger on 5/24 and I received an email to verify the date they will come in, which is on Tuesday between 12-4pm.  I stayed home for the appointment but at around 3pm, one of their customer reps called to say that they were running late as one of their jobs was taking much longer, and that they wanted to schedule me for another day.
I told them I had already stayed home for the day for this appointment and would like to have them come even if it's after our agreed upon time.  The lady confirmed they can do this and that they will call me once they are on their way.  Their plumber called shortly after 5pm and stated they were already close to my place and they got here within 5 minutes.
Their plumber went to work on the downstairs toilet that was clogged and used his auger to unclog it.  I asked if it's possible that a toy or small object may be blocking the toilet to the main drain, and he assured me that would not be the case as he was able to put over 3 feet in of his auger into the toilet.  After the toilet finally flushed, he tested the toilet a few times, putting several pieces of TP into it and re-flushing.
All in all I was very happy with the service and the price.  I saved a lot on the special pricing for the service from Angie's List if you pre-buy.  I was okay that they came later than scheduled.  Unexpected things happen and it was the day after Memorial Day.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
