"Mark was very professional, knowledgeable and thorough during the inspection. He took the time to explain how the heating and cooling systems operated, sump pump, well, etc. and took photos and documented everything. After the pre-drywall and final inspection, he presented a report detailing every area of concern and areas he felt the need to explain further. I was very impressed with his work and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspector."

"Adam was prompt, he was knowledgeable, he was professional and efficient and thorough. My wife followed him around as he inspected the roof, the garage, the attic and the rest of the house. He uncovered many hidden issues that required attention by the owner. Some were inconsequential but others (hidden away) were substantial and required professional correction. If you want a thorough inspection performed, he is the one to do it. In fact we will now be preparing our current home to sell and will engage Adam to conduct an inspection so that we will not encounter any surprises when a prospective buyer hires someone else. Adam is that thorough. It should be noted that although the cost of inspection is not inexpensive it is worth every penny."

"Willard Environmental was extremely responsive to our requests during our recent home inspection.  We wanted Mr. Willard to take a look at the property we were looking to purchase to determine the presence of an underground storage tank.  He was very thorough in looking for evidence inside and outside the property.  He coordinated the utility line markings of the property for us and then returned to perform a soil sample to verify that there was no contamination if a tank had been present at one time.  With our tight inspection deadlines, he turned the sample results back to us in 1 day.  Amazing customer service - we are very lucky we found Willard Environmental to help us assess our future home!

"Once Mike was in my home, he took the time to assess all the facts, as I
did he feared the worse (a leak behind a wall, many hours of hard work) once he started to setup
to cut into the wall he felt some undetected moister that was hidden
from both of us.  Pinpointing the area of the moisture's source, he
found an old ice maker access that was slowly weeping and leaking causing the
wetness below in the basement.  The previous owner did a self fix that was
less than the right way to do a repair.  A simple fix and the problem was solved
quickly.  This company and it's owners Mike and his son are the most
honest plumbers I have ever used.  Since there was time I had an old
unused  valve to remove from the water main, but Mike said it would
never leak or be an issue, hence another $200 - $250 I did not need to
spend. In the future I am going to be adding a basement bath that will
require connecting to the sewer main line under the basement concrete
floor.  I am only going to be calling one plumber "Mike" at Reliable
Home Improvement ... I expect his son to come do this job, its heavy
work, breaking and hauling the concrete out then installing all new
plumbing under the floor before making new concrete and filling a new
floor back in.  Both Mike and his son are Master Plumbers, why wouldn't
the father have the son do the heaving lifting, what else are son's for
... LOL.  This one job alone has paid for my 5 year membership to
Angie's List based on my savings.  It's not the List that is so great and wonderful, it's
the companies like Reliable Home Improvement and owners like Mike and his son
who I have found and built a relationship with to take care of my home
and my rental property for as long as I own them.  This is a family team, I feel like I
just became part of the team, a team focused on keeping my homes safe and
functioning 100% of the time without major failures.  I suggest you come join the team too.

"Ken worked diligently to do a thorough and honest inspection. I immediately re-hired him within a couple of days to do a separate inspection on an area that had been declared off limits until we had seller's permission to remove clutter from obstructed area - that's where the inspection paid off handsomely, providing the data justifying a significantly lower offer. Thank you Ken! - Peter L"

FAQs for complete home inspection projects in Markham, VA

An electrical inspection usually takes one to two hours. During the inspection, your electrician will follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) to ensure your home is safe and up to legal safety standards. They'll check your electrical system, including wires, appliances, meter box, panel, circuit breakers, and more.

Afterward, you'll receive a detailed checklist of everything they examined, along with a report highlighting any urgent issues—often with photos. They might also offer tips on how to save energy and improve your system's efficiency.

Regular electrical inspections protect your home and family by ensuring that every part of your electrical system operates safely. Scheduling inspections reduces the risk of electrical fires and cuts high insurance premiums by detecting problems early. Inspections defend against hidden system failures and maintain your property’s overall value, making them an essential part of home maintenance.

Full home electrical inspections are essential when buying a new home because every wiring detail must be evaluated. If you are not purchasing a home and have no significant concerns, a basic safety inspection is sufficient. However, for older properties or homes that have not been inspected for a long time, a comprehensive inspection is required to detect hidden issues and ensure complete safety.
