"We had a leak in our roof that for years I'd been trying to figure out from where it was coming. Water is tricky because where you're seeing it doesn't mean that's the source ("water finds a way"). Finally decided to call in an expert and Adam Vaillancourt Roofing was the first company that was listed in a Google search. The first thing I noticed was the company's consistently high customer satisfaction results (at least 4.5 stars). Customer service is very important to me when doing any work to our home, which is our biggest investment. I called and spoke with Cat Vaillancourt to set up an appointment. We met with sales rep Jose Luna, who conducted a thorough inspection and found the leak easily. His presentation about the company and how they do their work was impressive and Jose was very professional. The meeting included a video that Jose shot while on our roof in which he explained not just the issues that were found but WHY the work was needed. He patiently answered all our questions and never pressured us into agreeing to anything. It's our money, it's our decision, he said. After meeting with Jose, we didn't hesitate to sign a contract immediately to get the work done. One of the biggest factors in signing was that the folks who do the work are company employees, not contractors. Fast forward a few weeks later and Paul Camarro and his crew showed up at the house on time and ready to work. When they were done, Paul showed us photos of the completed repair work, so I knew they delivered as promised. Jose is in the process of making a follow-up appointment so that he can inspect the job and make sure that we are completely satisfied. From Cat Vaillancourt and Mary Kay Macfarlane in the office to Jose to Paul, every person we dealt with at Vaillancourt was fantastic and professional. Their emails often include the signature, "The Team at Vaillancourt Roofing" and it's obvious that they truly are a team. We will absolutely be calling Vaillancourt in a few years when our roof needs to be replaced. Highly recommend!"

"Excellent. I had a poor experience with 2 prior roofing contractors and had shared my concerns with Alex. He was empathetic and assured me he wanted me to be happy with hiring him. A good friend had referred him to me as well. Alex showed up when he said he would and made sure he left the job site clean and picked up when the job was done. I only rated him “good” pricing wise because he is not the cheapest but I feel he was well worth the price paid to make sure the job was done right. Thank you Alex! Mike"

"I have had a number of home inspections over the years and none were as thorough and complete as what Jerry did for us. He took the time to walk through the entire inspection process and went above and beyond in his explanations, in a very understandable and professional manner. He provided an email summary report within two days and followed up with a detailed report in a binder format with pictures and additional handwritten explanations. He even took the time a week or so after to answer any questions I did have via email and phone calls. Very very pleased and would highly recommend his services."

"For those of you already weary from reading the first part, I will give you a break. Mr. Lampro is One Spectacular Professional. For the rest of you, read on. For me, professionalism is having the expertise to do the right thing in the right way at the right time. I understand
that people need to make a living but if you are ?professionally reputable? you not only demonstrate that you possess a qualified skill-set and knowledge base, you exhibit an enthusiasm for doing the best job possible. You are not only polite but you feel a responsibility to ?partner? with your client in a complete and thorough discussion of your work. Everyone purchasing real estate has heard somewhere the phrase ?caveat emptor.? To that I would add,? You don?t always get what you pay for, but you rarely get more.? Mr. Lampro is one of those professionals who give you everything they?ve got, and in my estimation, something more. He fully met and exceeded my expectations. Not only did I get an extremely thorough report, I got an education and the peace of mind I needed to decide that at this age I know my limitations. I decided that I couldn?t even make an offer on the property.

"Many times you run into people that give you good service and do their job; but rarely do you find people that care about you and your home about as much as you do. This company is top rate in their service and goes well beyond expectations to give you a safe environment. Bob keeps you informed and is reassuring during the entire process. Somewhere in this world exists a company that offers integrity and honesty - well I found it with UCA; a job of excellence! Thank you for being there for me and going the extra mile."

FAQs for home inspection projects in Adamant, VT

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
