"After an unusual situation arose at my home, I was concerned about the possibility of structural damage caused by drilling and new construction at an adjacent lot. After receiving a recommendation for Veitas Engineers from a trusted source, I called and scheduled an appointment. I am so thankful that I did. I continue to be impressed with the amount of time that the two engineers spent at my house, closely inspecting the exterior and interior. Within days, I received a 16-page detailed report which included drawings, photographs, recommendations, and action items. I was so pleased when I saw that the action items were categorized as structural and non-structural, that is, that the engineers included items beyond my actual structural concerns. I used the report when working with a contractor to follow up on the recommendations and action items. The contractor was impressed with the quality, clarity, and scope of the report. "The inspection, while it lasted a long time, included many useful details but missed a few key pieces of information that ended up being important and ultimately convincing me not to proceed with the acquisition. Fortunately I hired another professional to give me a second opinion. The inspection report did not include any photographs which in this day and age is really helpful, particularly when trying to get estimates for what things will cost from contractors--since inspectors by law are not allowed to quote prices."

"The technician who came was a pleasant, competent professional who examined the unfinished attic to evaluateit w/r/t insulation only or insulation as part of a full finishing of the space. He took measurements and scratched out some information on his pad.. I told him that I intended to review my options before any decision. I offered payment at that time and he told me there was no charge for this service. It struck me as odd that he told me that what I had agreed to pay $19.00 for was actually free but I asumed billing would accompany an actual report/proposal. A month on I've never seen anything like a report although I have been charged via credit card for the inspection service. Perhaps the report-recommendation is still on its way? PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW FORM REQUIRES A YES/NO HIRE AGAIN RESPONSE. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO ANSWER UNDECIDED."
