"A few years ago, I had Holmes homes come out and repair a leak around a vent in my roof. They gave me a great price, we’re on time and very professional. Not only that, but they repaired other leaks in my roof that I had mentioned that was not part of our contract and they did this free of charge. In fact, I have found a number of other leaks on other parts of my roof, not related to the original repair and they have come out and climbed onto my steep roof to fix those problems again free of charge. I can’t sing enough praises for Holmes homes and would recommend them to anyone. I will definitely go with them if my roof needs to be replaced or repaired again."

"Ryan Carson from RC Roofing competed with 7 other roofers for our business. We chose these 7 based on Angies List reviews. Then we called them to schedule an estimate, 3 of the 7 wanted us to get our insurance involved and provide them with the adjusters quote. Since we didn't want to have an insurance claim we dismissed all 3 of them.
That left 4 other companies that gave us an estimate and all 4 were fairly competitive. 2 of the 4 guessed that we we would need 27 squares and one guessed 26 squares. However Ryan got up on our roof and spent quite some time measuring it. He said we would need 24 squares, we questioned him on this since the others guessed 26 and 27 squares. He assured us that he measured it and his calculations were accurate. He told us that he grew up roofing, as his family was involved in roofing and that he is a graduate of OSU with a degree in construction management.
His estimate was descriptive without being confusing. He described what he intended to do and the cost of each portion was broke down and descriptive with no smoke and mirrors as to what was to be done. Ryan was very professional and did a great job for exactly what he quoted. Additionally he refused a deposit and told us that any contractor that asked for money up front was probably not to be trusted. Which I had heard before and appreciated.
A few days after the job was complete we noticed a hole in our bathroom ceiling. I began to investigate what would have caused the hole and discovered that during our bathroom remodel, the plumber had just cut off the vent pipe and left it there strapped to a board in the attic and Ryans guys didn't notice it while while changing the roof jack since it was sitting on our bathroom sheetrock and was strapped to a board that stabilized it from moving around. We have had a very wet couple of weeks and water coming down the pipe is what caused the ceiling to give way. I called Ryan about the issue and he came back out right away. I had already determined that it was not anything that he or his crew had done wrong, I just wanted to get it fixed. Ryan offered to fix it for "FREE" as he felt his guys should have noticed it while replacing the roof jack.
I knew it was not his responsibility and insisted that it was something that I hadn't noticed either. I didn't feel like he should have to pay for the repair and he felt like it was the right thing to do since he had just finished the roof. So we came to an agreement and he sent someone back out to do a proper repair and we split the cost of the job for $100.00 each which I felt was more than fair since I had intended to pay for the repair once I discovered the issue was caused by another contractor.
I Highly recommend Ryan and the crew of RC Roofing. They are very professional, work diligently, and wouldn't open up our roof unless they were pretty sure that it wouldn't rain while the roof was off. If all contractors were as honest and took the time Ryan did to give us a fair and honest estimate the world would be a much better place.
