"Davon from NextDay Inspect did a very thorough inspection of the home. The day of Davon explained what to expect during the inspection, providing us a verbal summary as he completed review of each section of the home. The report he completed was detailed reiterating the issues he came across noting the risk to the home and health. The report also linked to clear photos of the issues."

"Mark from LBI Home Inspection was fantastic. He was very thorough and knowledgeable on each element we came across during inspection. This cannot be said about some of our former inspectors who just seemed to want to check the box. Mark seemed to take pride in his work and make sure that we as home owners were fully informed on the state of the home, potential maintenance risks, and corrections that should be considered. I actually just went and purchased new photoelectric smoke detectors for my home after learning about the difference between ionization and photoelectric during the training he provided. I highly recommend you use Mark if you are looking for an inspector to provide a report that brings true value."

"The representative got back to me within minutes of me request my inspection. He was very polite, knowledgeable and flexible with meeting my scheduling needs. Once the inspection was completed, I received a very detailed report with pictures and descriptions before he left the house. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of a home inspection at any time."

"The main reason for contacting DE Turner and Sons was to get an estimate to replace the columns on my front porch after one had fallen off after a windy rain storm.  At the same time, I was going to have all the guttering on my home replaced.  David came out and reviewed the project and he suggested the best, most economical way to proceed, which actually saved me alot of money on the guttering because it did not need to be replaced, just re-secured to the roof.  I was extremely impressed with the quality workmanship and courtesy extended to me by David, a very pleasant person to deal with.  I would highly recommend DE Turner and Sons for any kind of home improvement project and I intend to use them again for additional home projects.

"The only thing that made me give them a 4.0 is the service rep did not let us know, when he did the inspection, that there was debris underneath where they needed to lay the cover. Unfortunately, the team that came out could not lay the cover under the main part of the house. Now we will have to reschedule. Everyone was really nice, even the sales rep. Just would like to have been informed that there was debris that needed to be moved so the job could be completed."

"HCR was great. The representative who came to the house, David Kaszubinski, was professional, courteous, prompt and above all honest. Mr. Kaszubinski did a thorough inspection of our roof and gave us a wide array of options to choose from for the roof. He was able to easily explain the options in terms that made sense to us and was open about the pros and cons of each option. Mr. Kaszubinksi also helped us work with our insurance company who was being extremely difficult and only wanted to cover roofing materials that were up to standards 10 years ago. Mr. Kaszubinski took the time to email and call our insurance rep to walk him through the items covered in the estimate and to explain why they were required per current county codes. This helped us obtain the maximum benefit possible from the insurance company and saved us thousands of dollars. Once we approved the new roof, HCR was able to quickly fit us in within a week and had the whole project done in a day and a half. The new roof looks beautiful and with the lifetime warranty, we feel like the money was well spent. Overall I highly recommend HCR and Mr. Kaszubinski in particular. Very trustworthy!"

"This company did an excellent job. A lot of homes that have 2 floors find that the 2nd floor is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Accurate Insulation solve that problem for me. I am now much more comfortable in my home and no longer have to add layers of clothing in the winter time and take them off in summer time. Thank you Accurate Insulation."

FAQs for home inspection projects in Gerrardstown, WV

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
