I bring 24+ years of window film and protective glazing experience across major commercial, institutional, and residential projects. My portfolio includes high-visibility sites such as the White House, U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, NIH, Google HQ, CNN, The Washington Post, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Lawrence Livermore Labs, Williams Tower, Century Plaza Towers, Watt Plaza Towers, and London Olympics venues, along with work supporting 120+ schools across Texas and multiple military installations. I’ve managed large-scale retrofits requiring tight logistics, QA/QC, and off-hours execution in occupied buildings. More recently, I’ve expanded residential work—installing energy-saving solar control tint to reduce heat and glare, plus exterior security solutions like Crimsafe security screens and doors to help protect homes from break-ins and storms.\n

"From the moment I spoke with Scott on the phone and told him about my home I bought. He was helpful in so many ways over and beyond what a previous home inspector I had hired was. He answered questions I had, and was patient with me, and even gave advice on what could better my home to sell it. He spent a great deal of time with me and inspecting and even came back for a follow up on a situation that had occurred with the home after the inspection from the previous owner vandalizing the property. I recommend him highly. So much so, i wanted to give him a tip for how great he was. He treats you like a friend and yet is professional. This is the first time i have felt compelled to write a review for a service as he was and is that great. His inspection report was extremely thorough and he answered questions before the report that he thought i might have concern with upon reading it. He basically pre-explained notations on the report before he submitted it, so I would be better informed. If you are looking to hire a home inspector , Scott is your guy. I have never had this kind of quality and attention, and friendliness from a service ever!"

"I made an appointment for Thursday morning and the man arrived at 11 A.M. He completely inspected the ice maker and told me that the water valve that fills the ice maker has a leak. He told me what he needed to do to fix the problem and what parts were needed. He ordered the parts and told me that he made another appointment to install the new parts and finish the repairs."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"GREAT! This company replaced my whole roof which had been in place for 28 years ago, which they had also installed because of hail damage back then. They are incredibly neat; lined the complete outside periphery of my home area with tarpoleoums to catch the debris of the removal of old shingles & under-lament. They are very swift, in that the whole job was done in two days. The job also required temporary removal & re-installation of 4 tubular skylights, some wood repairs, installation of modified roofing material on a low pitch 20 X 20 ft. area, ridge vents on the house & 400 sq. ft. carport, & lawnmower shed. Their job successfully met the Texas Windstorm requirements. I chose this company because of the excellent job they had done 28 years ago and completely trusted them again do a great job. My being a do-it-yourself type from having built part of this home, gave me an insight upon observing every step of the roofing job. Having had a favorable recommendation from my local State Farm Insurance agent, further said this company was still doing good work. Yes, I will use them again if needed."

FAQs for home inspection projects in Eagle Lake, TX

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
