"They came out the day of my call to inspect roof and informed of issues present. A few days later we had our roof on the house and both buildings replaced all in one day. We also had beautiful black gutters installed. Solid work would recommend them to anyone needing roof or gutter work"

"The water pressure reducing valve under the house started singing to me a few weeks ago. I called The Water Specialist. The lady asked first if it was an emergency and I needed someone that day (I appreciated that but it was not) and we scheduled a visit. The plumber arrived on time. An initial inspection of the valve inside looked OK. He put it back on and tweaked the water taps until he reproduced the sound. Then he removed the valve again and took to over to the truck where he disassembled it completely and found debris in the internal works, removed that, lubricated the valve and re-installed it. Problem solved, without having to buy a new one, for the price of a very reasonable service call. I always call companies like that first.

"Very good experience. The technician was punctual and very professional. After giving him a description of the issue he did an inspection and found the problem fast. He did not leave until he verified several times everything was working properly. "We called Polecat Remodeling on a Saturday morning to have them come by and give us a estimate. They came the very next day. They assessed the damage and gave us a quote ( which saved us a lot of money). Polecat was the best of all 3 quotes from other companies we received. Nate and Teresa made the whole process much easier for us. They walked us through the whole process every step of the way. As new homeowners we were devastated from the damage to the house from a fire. Nate and Teresa made the whole situation less stressful. Their attention to detail and expertise work showed. They made it even better than when we first bought the house. They not only did the main job but they also did other things along the way. We are so pleased with their whole process. They are fast, reliable and their attention to detail is spot on. We are so thankful for the hard work and exceptional quality of work. Thank you Polecatremoldeling we will be using you for any and all work needed in the future. We highly recommend Polecatremoldeling for all your needs you wont be disappointed. Sincerely , The Winters"

"Unfortunately I live about 11 hours away from the house that required the work, and was unable to make any of the repairs myself.  I turned to Angie's list to help find a reputable handyman to help out.  Since I couldn't be around to look at the work myself, I wanted someone I could trust.  Hargrove's had a great reputation, and quickly returned my calls.  As Mr Hargrove went through the house, I spoke with him on the phone, and we agreed on what needed done.  Mr Hargrove pointed out several things others hadn't noticed, so I asked him to fix those problems as well.
Mr Hargrove was also very helpful in that he started work immediately, while my check was still in the mail.  I was kept well-informed of the repairs that were being made.  The only thing that got missed was some photos of the work; we talked about getting me some pictures, but I never got any  The work was completed in a timely manner.
Not being able to inspect the repairs myself, I asked the realtor to give me his opinion on the repairs.  He said most of the repairs looked good.  His main reservation was the carpet that was replaced; he stated that it didn't match the carpet that was already in the house very well, and that the whole room should have been replaced, as opposed to a patch.  This is 3rd party information, and in fact I've never met the realtor in person either.
So, regrettably this review is not of great value to someone looking for the specifics of the work done by Hargrove's.  Since I haven't seen the work myself, I can't personally vouch for it being great or mediocre.  However, I can offer specifics on interaction with Hargrove's.  I do trust Hargrove's, the communication was good, and I would use them again if the need arises.
I gave B-ratings for experience, price, and quality only because of the 3rd party review of the work.  I would have liked to give A-ratings, but without being able to see before/after pictures, I felt uncomfortable with that.  I'm certain this situation is not the norm for Hargrove's, where someone is trying to direct their efforts from many miles away.  And admittedly it is not the simplest situation to deal with.

FAQs for home inspection projects in Yanceyville, NC

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
