"Davon from NextDay Inspect did a very thorough inspection of the home. The day of Davon explained what to expect during the inspection, providing us a verbal summary as he completed review of each section of the home. The report he completed was detailed reiterating the issues he came across noting the risk to the home and health. The report also linked to clear photos of the issues."

"They did a wonderful job from sales to completion. The sales representative clearly had great understanding of not only his products, but took the time to completely inspect our roof from inside to outside and made suggestions on how to proceed. The installers were friendly and the debris was kept to a minimum and was gone at the end of the job."

"Best contractor we ever hired!  Tom Green was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done.  He did not try to "over sell" and gave use several options based on cost and urgency.  Tom was always prompt and punctual in responding to our requests and needs.  Boris Cardenas, the site manager, was also prompt and efficient in getting the job done with minimal inconvenience to our daily routines.

First, we had some wooden trim on our house exterior replaced and painted.  At first inspection, there were some areas that were overlooked by the crew.  Once we notified Exterior Medics, both Tom and his crew responded immediately, did the walk-through to make sure everything had been completed, and immediately corrected the oversights with no hassle.

We also had a custom flat roof and railing the was over our front door.  It was initially a very poor design by the builder, Centex, that did not allow for proper water drainage.  Instead water would gather on top and over time led to water seepage and wood damage.  Exterior Medics corrected the grade (to allow for better water run-off) and painted the face boards.  However, upon inspection, we noticed that they did not paint / clean the decorative railings that now stood out because of the freshly painted face boards.  Like before, Tom and his crew responded immediately and corrected the problem to our satisfaction.

Lastly, we had builder-grade windows replaced in our kitchen, family room, and dining room.  There was a miscommunication between us and the window manufacturer as to what windows were actually being replaced.  Once again, Tom was very responsive and came through with a very amicable and reasonable resolution.

It seemed like we had issues along the way.  But as someone who works in a service industry, I always judge not on whether there are problems/issues, but how the company responds.  In each case, Exterior Medics passed with flying colors.

We had several companies come out to give estimates on this work.  We decided on Exterior Medics because they were informative, reasonable in cost, responsive, but most of all seemed to take into consideration what was best for the homeowner, not what they can get away with charging.

I would vey highly recommend Tom Green and Exterior Medics if you need any type of home repair.

"It was a great job. I've used JW Home Improvement before for inside small jobs. The estimate was well within the average for the job. The crew that came to do the removal of the old gutters and install the new system was terrific. Mr. Thomas Matamoros was the crew chief with assistance from Kevin and Gary. They arrived on time, worked hard and finished the job in the estimated time. Of great help, was the fact that they arrived at the beginning of the 2 hour estimated arrival time. Mr. Matamoros walked thru the expected job before starting the work. When it was finished, he had me inspect the work. No problems. They cleaned up well, no scraps of metal or screws, nails or other trash was left. Definitely will continue to use this company."

"HCR was great. The representative who came to the house, David Kaszubinski, was professional, courteous, prompt and above all honest. Mr. Kaszubinski did a thorough inspection of our roof and gave us a wide array of options to choose from for the roof. He was able to easily explain the options in terms that made sense to us and was open about the pros and cons of each option. Mr. Kaszubinksi also helped us work with our insurance company who was being extremely difficult and only wanted to cover roofing materials that were up to standards 10 years ago. Mr. Kaszubinski took the time to email and call our insurance rep to walk him through the items covered in the estimate and to explain why they were required per current county codes. This helped us obtain the maximum benefit possible from the insurance company and saved us thousands of dollars. Once we approved the new roof, HCR was able to quickly fit us in within a week and had the whole project done in a day and a half. The new roof looks beautiful and with the lifetime warranty, we feel like the money was well spent. Overall I highly recommend HCR and Mr. Kaszubinski in particular. Very trustworthy!"

FAQs for home inspection projects in Fairfax Station, VA

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
